WRF products are dishwasher and microwave safe, although hand-wash is recommended. Most of cutlery markings can be removed by gently using Bar Keepers Friend (liquid or dry) with a damp soft cloth.
The images below are samples of some glaze quality and our aesthetics.
WRF pieces are made from stoneware clay that has natural minerals including free iron that can appear as dark spots on the ceramics. Our brand allows for a small amount of small iron spots. Large iron spots are unacceptable and are marked as 2nd quality at discounted prices.
Plates are dipped in a bucket of glazes with tongs. The tong marks are natural part of WRF aesthetics although we try to minimize the marks.
Occasionally circular forms (bowls, plates and cups/mugs) shift during the firing process. WRF’s aesthetic embraces mild shifting of the form. Excessive shifting is marked as a 2nd quality product.
The left photo has very minor deformed opening and it is acceptable quality. The right photo has excessive deformation and it is marked as 2nd.
Forms can shift during the firing process. The level of the lip on bowls, cups and mugs happens. We accept subtle shifts in the forms.
Our glaze colors vary slightly every firing due to its reductive environment in the kiln.
Steaks and drip marks appear with Mustard, Wreath and Ash glazes.
